My name is Carol. There’s nothing exceptional about me. I am a statistic. The one in two that will have cancer. Diagnosis followed a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  I never thought 'Why Me?' 


I try to find my 'new normal' and started training for the Manchester Marathon. I’ll return to work knowing I haven’t completed my journey.


Then COVID-19 arrives, and a letter from NHS. I’m now shielding. The garden wall has been my perimeter for so many weeks. I’ve rediscovered baking and growing my own vegetables and now able to work from home, desperately trying to get into a routine, and keep healthy both mentally and physically.


I shall be forever grateful I saw Paul’s FB post about Venning Indoor Cycle Hire, to allow me this opportunity. I have always been a glass half full lady, but the arrival of this bike has my glass overflowing.

Since hiring the Stages SC3 from Venning Indoor Cycle Hire, the benefits have been major fitness improvement and weight loss. 


Having the SC3 that connects to various apps helps gives you motivation to push yourself harder, further and improve your health and fitness. I find using the colours on Stages Flight and Intelligent Cycling really helpful, and look forward to the weekly uploaded workouts.


We can’t fault the service in any way. Paul is available for advice and help when required, sets the programs and we have a little community through the Facebook page and messenger.

The advantages of the Stages SC3 over a basic bike are that it replicates ‘proper‘ cycling and allows you to record your ride, track fitness and your performance progress. Just as with running which is my main sport. 


I also love that it complements my other activities. 


The support from Venning Ride is absolutely amazing, from the advice available about the bike and maintenance to the variety of workouts increased almost daily on the Intelligent Cycling app.

I have been using Venning Ride Fitness Hire since the UK went into lockdown back in March and fitness studios closed. 


Venning Ride Fitness Hire have been in constant email/text contact ensuring everything is OK, and are always on hand if you have any questions or problems with the bike. 


My personal experience is that the bikes are extremely reliable and consistent.
